How to spot a liar by Pamela Meyer

In this very interesting TED talk proposed by James Benenson, Pamela Meyer describes how body language can be used to spot a liar. Being able to recognize someone who is lying is primordial to eventually build trust.

She also explains how a lie is a cooperative act and that sometimes we are willing participants in deception for the sake of social dignity. Sometimes we simply prefer not to hear some things or keep them secret. We say "Honey, you don't look fat in that, no." Or we say "You know, I just fished that email out of my spam folder. So sorry."
Henry Oberlander, a really effective con man, said he had only one rule when lying to people"Look, everyone is willing to give you something. They are ready to give you something for whatever it is they are hungry for." So in order to be protected from consensual lies we have to know what we are hungry for...

Finally she gives us the tricks to lie discovery: what studies teaches us on liars behaviors. Very interesting!
